This is the Seiko Alpinist 140th Anniversary Ginza Limited Edition Watch SPB259J1. Designed to celebrate the 140 years since the beginnings of the Seiko Watch Corporation, which started off as a watch and clock repair shop in Ginza, Tokyo.The 'paved' pattern on the dial is inspired by the first Western style street paving areas on Ginza. The blue-grey colour dial represents the Ginza area today, and the reflections of the sky in the glass cityscape - as well as being one if Japan's cultural colours.This watch has been inspired by the original Seiko Alpinist which was first launched in 1959 exclusively in the Japanese Yama-otoko mountain men, to be reliable in unpredictable terrain.
